The cat treats were given to the shelter cats as enrichment and also given to adopters. Pictured is Pumpkin. From the shelter’s Facebook page: “Hi, my name is Pumpkin. I am about 3 years old. I came to the adoption center on March 4th because my family is moving. I am a sweet boy. I like kids. I am a kitty that prefers to have all four feet on the floor. I have been an indoor/outdoor boy. I am doing great in the community room with the other cats now that I have found my spot. I am a self-entertaining type of cat that would be wonderful in a home with people who work or go to school. Please come by and meet me and see if we are a lucky match. I am already neutered and ready to go home.”

Burr came in as a stray. He was so badly matted that you could not touch him anywhere without getting poked with stickers. The groomer reported that he had the most goathead stickers embedded in his skin that she had ever seen. He was immediately transported to the vet for antibiotics and another hour was spent taking more goatheads off of his whole body. The veterinarian said he had never seen so many in his career. Ten days later, Burr was off his antibiotics and will spend his time riding shotgun with a semi driver who is head over heels for him.

We had a beautiful, young male cat come in with a pretty badly infected wound. The cat had to immediately be taken to the vet. It was discovered that if the collar had been left much longer, his leg may have been severed. He had his surgery and is now on his way to healing.
