This grant allowed us to take in Gallway, a kitten who was found with his mother and littermates. He has been adopted. From his Petfinder profile: “Meet Gallway, an 8-week-old, 2.6-lb. (as of April 8), delightful domestic shorthair mix. This lovely kitty is sweet, soft, and super loving. He is cat-friendly, dog-friendly and terrific with adults and kids. He is frisky and fun, but also knows how to chill out. He will swat feathers, chase plastic balls, and play with string toys — and then go down for a much-needed cat nap! He is cuddly, cute, and very entertaining to have around. He has a soothing purr and a gentle meow that will melt your heart. This deserving fluff-ball is a gem and will make someone very happy. ”

Cowbell has gained much confidence and loves his KONG! From his Petfinder profile: “Mooo! Introducing Cowbell, a 3-year old, 58-lb. Plott hound mix. This handsome hunk is so sweet and loyal, he has been nicknamed Buddy — and that’s all he wants: to be your buddy, your bestie, your pal with four paws. Buddy is a tad timid at first, but once he knows you, his love is pure, heartfelt and unconditional. He gets along beautifully with all dogs. And all humans too! Especially if you gently caress his big, floppy, velvety ears! And wait til you do! They’re literally like butter! This gentle giant is playful and goofy, but he’s also capable of entertaining himself for hours on end with any type of chew toy. KONGs, pigs’ ears, rawhide sticks, Himalayan chews — you name it, he’ll take it! Buddy travels well in a car, will come when you say the name Buddy and understands what the word ‘no’ means. He seems to be a real bright boy and you can tell that he’s eager to keep learning and growing. Quite the chowhound, Buddy prefers wet dog food, but in the end, he’ll pretty much eat anything. Without a doubt, his favorite food is chicken. Pass the drumstick, please!” Meet him: http://www.petfinder.com/petdetail/42690664

Clea is a 46-lb., 6-year-old boxer mix. She is simply a fabulous, loving, friendly, and balanced dog who would fit in with any household! She is very mellow but will happily play or take long walks. She will lie at your feet or next to you on the couch but is not needy. She loves any and all attention but is perfectly independent. Best of all, she is WONDERFUL with kids and totally unfazed by a house full of boisterous little ones!

Miss Clea knows the commands sit and come. She enjoys taking car rides, starring out the window watching life carry on. Clea is perfectly housetrained … score! In the house, she is very mellow. When appropriate, she’ll romp around the yard and chase a ball around. She enjoys hanging outdoors and patrolling the yard for squirrels. She could spend hours outside when the weather is nice. She is a fabulous walking partner and amazing on a leash.

Clea loves nothing more than to snuggle with people and get belly rubs. She adores being pet and receiving attention. You’ll find her snuggled up in bed with her favorite plush toy. She is friendly (but not jumpy) with everyone she meets and wins over all with her soulful brown eyes and wiggly, waggy body. She’s just a perfect dog!
