One of the dogs whom this grant helped was a German shepherd named Esme. Esme has gone from home to home and foster to foster, but what always made her happy were her toys. When Kong’s package arrived, she was one of the adults who received one. She carried her Kong around everywhere she went! It was like a pacifier to her. She would retrieve it when thrown and would just sit with it. Today, she is finally in a good home and was able to go home with her Kong. 🙂

The puppy was able to be vetted and prepped for a permanent home. This big puppy was adopted! The sponsored dog was Hollywood, a chocolate Lab. From his Petfinder profile: “1.5 years old. Friendly and happy. Playful. Loves swimming. Great companion! Good with some dogs (mostly females). Does well in the home and does okay in his crate. Rides well in the car, also. Could use a little work on the leash but he is still like a puppy. He’s a good boy! He will need activities and plenty of chew toys! He is heartworm-positive but has been on the less-invasive treatment method for a few months already. Should be negative in a year! Will come with meds.”

The money went towards spaying a sweet, happy ex-shelter-momma girl! The pet sponsored was Ella, who has been adopted. From her Petfinder profile: “Two years old. Very sweet girl! Good personality. This cute girl was given up due to a divorce — neither decided to keep her. She is good with other dogs. Does not care much for the crate, though. Good companion. Needs the right owner who will love her for life.”

This donation helped get Bostitch neutered! The puppy went on to find a wonderful home afterwards! 🙂 From his Petfinder profile: “Will be 8 weeks old soon and will be available to meet starting May 30 at our adoption event. He is 4.4 lbs right now and is the fluffy and fuzziest. He is super super adorable and very happy!! Someone will be very happy to adopt him into their life. He’s just so precious!”

Puppy Pleasers Rescue: A Shot at Life Vaccination Grant Report

What was the money or product used for?

Puppies/dogs in rescue

How did this grant help your organization and the pets in your care?

It helped a lot because we had received several puppies in that truly benefited from the vaccines. It came just in time as we had several young litters at once that were turned in.

How many pets did this grant help?

So far, about 40.

We took in a litter of puppies that had no shots and were 6 weeks old. On the first day they came in, we vaccinated them with the vaccines that were donated to us. It was extremely helpful with them (and others that came in). The 3-in-1 shots were a great vaccine start for several of our puppies because a lot of them were small and we felt it was best to start small then next time do a 5-in-1. We really appreciate the grant!
