Reuben, a.k.a. Romeo (first photo) was adopted as a puppy but returned to the shelter as an adult. He spent six months at the shelter, and because of the pandemic, adoptions slowed down. This grant helped keep him fed and cleaned daily during the pandemic. He has now been adopted and is happy to have a family of his own.

Baxter, Briggs, and Barrett (second, third, and fourth photos) are a litter of babies whom were born in a foster home, they entered the shelter when they were big enough to be vaccinated. The pandemic slowed their adoption time, Briggs and Baxter have been adopted, however Barrett is still looking for his forever home. Evee was surrendered to us because she wasn’t fitting into her new home. She is a little anxious, but super sweet and very smart. She is really enjoying the Kong toys and figuring out how to get the treats out of the middle while she’s waiting for her new home. Meet her: http://www.petfinder.com/petdetail/42078494

Every day, the cats in our care get out of their cages and into rotation rooms. These rooms are used for exercise, meeting new people, and lounging around, being a cat. If a cat does not like a buddy, they get the room all to themselves. These lovely ladies enjoy quiet time and their own space, but are looking for a nice lap to warm, as they are still available for adoption.

Petey came in as a stray and a very active boy, but we showcased him as his playful self and he was adopted quickly. The interactive toys and a video on Facebook caught his new mom’s attention. She tells us, “We love him so much and he’s incredibly spoiled! I’m so glad we adopted Petey! He’s so much fun and full of energy. Just what my four kiddos needed!” Attached is a picture of Petey upon arrival, as well as several updates in his new home.

Thanks to the Rescue U renovation grant from the Petfinder Foundation, we were able to refresh the office with new flooring. The original flooring was placed when the office was first built in 1992. It has held up throughout the years, but with many years has worn and deteriorated. Removing the old, soiled floor brought the office back to a professional look and removed smells and stains which were not able to be removed before.
