Animal Humane Association of Star Valley: A Shot at Life Vaccination Grant Report

How did this grant help your organization and the pets in your care?

Vaccinations were used for our shelter animals

We have been able to vaccinate the dogs and cats coming into the shelter with your help. We are in an area that has never had a animal shelter until we build one in 2008. There are many low income people here in the valley and in need of help with their dogs and cats. Being able to vaccinate has helped us with our vet bills. We are not funded by the state or county and run strickly on donations.

How many pets did this grant help?

we have used 30 of the cat and dog vaccinations that we received. We got 25 of each.

Please provide a story of one or more specific pets this grant helped.

Daisy is a St. Bernard Mix. She was tied to our door and had just had puppies. We did not know what happened to the puppies. She was in terrible shape and very, very thin.
We were able to give her the vaccination as soon as we found her. Two weeks someone came in with two of her puppies. Found out that someone was selling them at the grocery store and they were only 3 weeks old. The person that brought us the puppies knew Daisy. She was not in a good home. She is doing much better now and putting on weight. She may have a new home this week. We were also able to vaccinate the puppies, thanks to you. It has certainly helped us with our vet expense and made it possible to give the vaccination right away. I have sent pictures of Daisy and her pups. They are Bonnie and Thelma
