Humane Society of Harrison County: COVID-19 Operation Grant Report
How did this grant help your organization and the pets in your care?
We used this money to purchase vaccines and dewormer for the cats and dogs in our care.
This grant helped us to provide basic care for the animals here, including yearly vaccines and deworming. All of our animals are given first series of vaccines (depending on vaccine history), dewormed, and spayed or neutered, all of which is expensive but necessary.

Please provide a story of one or more specific pets this grant helped.
Heidi, a 9-year-old whippet mix, has not had the best upbringing, but she is still in good spirits. She seems to have lived outside her whole life. She arrived infested with ticks and fleas and very thin and underweight due to this heavy parasite infestation. Once she received vaccines and was spayed, and after two rounds of Virbantel dewormer, she gained weight and blossomed. She was here about a month as we helped her get healthy, and was adopted in June.
