River Cities Bully Buddies: KONG Toys Grant Report
How did this grant help your organization and the pets in your care?
The product has been used for puppy play/shenanigans.
The box of puppy Kongs has provided mental as well as physical stimulation and has helped to keep our rambunctious pups in foster homes stimulated and content, which in turn keeps our foster families happy!
How many pets did this grant help?
We have used three them. We have more adults than puppies at this time.
Please provide a story of one or more specific pets this grant helped.
This is a photograph of Jewel, one of our “forest babies” (they were found abandoned in the woods at approximately 6 weeks of age) with her KONG toy. It is difficult to get a photograph of any of the pups in action, they just blur. So we had to settle for a picture of her and the KONG together. According to her foster mom, she would run up to the toy, bark, nudge it and then run off, repeat. She would occasionally grab it and run just like a child showing off her new toy. Foster Mom would also fill it with peanut butter occasionally, which would keep Jewel busy for a long time so Mom could get some housework done. Thank you again for supporting our mission and helping to make our pups AND foster families happy!
UPDATE: Jewel has been adopted!
