Imogene was part of the gruesome, nationally publicized equine abuse and neglect case in Boyle County, Kentucky, earlier this year. She was nearly euthanized due to being feral and entirely emaciated; as I put it earlier looking over the intake photos, she had three feet already in the grave.

Law enforcement assisted locals with tons of the horses from this case, and that helped us become aware of this 2-year-old’s need for a rescue after a local person accepted her temporarily. She has made leaps and bounds of progress in the last week in terms of discovering that people do not always suck. She needed vet care, farrier care, dental care and training.

She will be adoptable soon.
