Chasing Daylight Animal Shelter: Grant Report

How did this grant help your organization and the pets in your care?

We used the grant money provided to us to begin microchipping all of our animals that come through our shelter.

We have implemented microchipping here at CDAS in 2016 as another means of reuniting lost pets with their owners. This will help ensure that all of our adopted animals can easily be reunited with their families or brought back to CDAS safely. We have had lots of people who inquired about this, and were very happy to hear that our shelter now does this for each of our animals.

How many pets did this grant help?

We were able to purchase 150 microchips.

Please provide a story of one or more specific pets this grant helped.

We have microchipped more than 50 animals in the last two months. Norman, one of our hounds, has managed to escape the play yards a few times to go play in the woods behind the shelter. We can rest assured that we have great followers that were able to help us reunite with him, as well as know that he is microchipped.
