How did this grant help your organization and the pets in your care?

We used this grant money to purchase disposable scratchers for our cat cages from
stretchandscratch.com. These scratchers have a huge impact on our cats' mental and physical health. By expressing the natural cat behavior of scratching, they are able to reduce stress while they wait for their new homes.

Ziggy (first photo) was stuck in a cage at the shelter for a while, waiting for his forever home. He got overlooked many times because he is an average brown tabby.

Because of the grant, we purchased scratchers and Ziggy was able to pass the time by scratching, chewing, and stretching in his cage. He was finally adopted a week later.
