Eastshore Humane Association: Grant Report
How did this grant help your organization and the pets in your care?
We have a "funky cat room" that is a community cat room. There are high benches and catwalks, but our cat trees/perches were in bad shape and needed to be replaced. We were able to purchase several large cat trees/perches with the money we got from the Foundation.
The cats love this room. This room has a large window looking into our lobby, so potential adopters can watch the cats playing, climbing and interacting with each other.
How many pets did this grant help?
We keep 20 cats, minimum, in this large room. We circulate the cats in and out of this room. So it benefits all of our cats. The shelter has anywhere from 70-120 cats.
Please provide a story of one or more specific pets this grant helped.
Kittens are kept in the Funky Cat Room along with the adult cats. We had two very shy sister kittens. Being in that room helped them become socialized. They were withdrawn when we received them, but they loved being in that room and began to play and interact with the other cats.
