PAWS (Progressive Animal Welfare Society): Sponsor a Pet Grant Report

How did this grant help your organization and the pets in your care?

To reduce the adoption fee for a senior FIV-positive cat, Rosie Cotton.

Rosie Cotton was a 12-year-old cat transferred to PAWS from SCRAPS shelter in Spokane on April 10, 2016. She was fostered for several weeks to make sure she was the best version of herself when we made her available for adoption. Rosie Cotton spent a total of two months in PAWS' care and was adopted during a senior-cat promotion during Cat Adoption month. She went to her new home on June 10, 2016.

How many pets did this grant help?

We promoted 11 senior cats during June. Gant funds were used to reduce adoption fees for one cat.

Please provide a story of one or more specific pets this grant helped.

This description was provided by Rosie Cotton’s foster mother: Rosie is the sweetest, gentlest, most good-natured cat you could ever hope to meet. She loves to be around people. She likes to talk and has an adorable trilling meow. As soon as you sit down she will be in your lap or she will flop down at your feet for a belly rub. She is agile, but never jumps up on counters or scratches furniture. She loves to be brushed. Rosie is a very social cat and loves human company. She would really thrive in a home where her people are home most of the time.
