Orcas Animal Protection Society/Orcas Animal Shelter: Sponsor a Pet Grant Report
How did this grant help your organization and the pets in your care?
Food, cat litter and toys
Journey is a cat who loves people but won't tolerate other cats. She could not be housed in our community rooms, so she ended up in our empty kitten room. We were able to provide her food, litter and toys with the grant.

Please provide a story of one or more specific pets this grant helped.
Journey was originally from a farm in Iowa. She was found in the owner’s barn with a severe injury to her head. They provided all her veterinary care, which included dealing with a broken jaw and the removal of some teeth, and then brought her to their second home on Orcas Island, WA. They hoped Journey would get along with their 16-year-old cat, but that was not to be. In deference to their senior cat, Journey was surrendered to us. This sweet and beautiful cat was adopted on April 6, 2019, and will be the only cat in her new home.
