MEOW Cat Rescue: Sponsor a Pet

What was the money or product used for?

It was designated for one of our longtime shelter residents, Sweet Pea.

How did this grant help your organization and the pets in your care?

Sweet Pea is a “hit by car” kitty with spinal injuries that cause her to be incontinent. When we express her bladder about three times each day, she gets treats. This grant will be used to ensure that Sweet Pea is never without the treats she enjoys so much.

Please provide a story of one or more specific pets this grant helped.

Sweet Pea was relinquished to MEOW Cat Rescue from a hoarding situation in which her humans hardly knew her, and certainly hadn’t observed that she had been badly injured by a car and also had a raging infection after having given birth to a litter of kittens. The fact that she survived is a miracle in itself. She has been with us for more than four years and has won the hearts of shelter staff, volunteers and visitors. She is silly and sweet, and such an athlete! We’d love for her to have a home of her own one day, but if that ever happens it will be such a bittersweet day for all of us who would miss her. Meet Sweet Pea here.
