How did this grant help your organization and the pets in your care?

The sponsorship was directed to the care of a special-needs cat named Sweet Pea.

Sweet Pea is incontinent due to a spinal injury from having been hit by a car in her previous life as an outdoor cat in a hoarding situation. Because her bladder has to be expressed and doesn’t empty on its own, she is prone to urinary-tract infections. She gets quarterly urinalysis, and more frequently if she has symptoms.

Although Sweet Pea has significant special needs, we do consider her adoptable to the right home. She must have her bladder expressed three to four times daily and will continue to require frequent monitoring for urinary-tract issues.
