The Humane Society for Seattle/King County: Sponsor a Pet Grant Report

How did this grant help your organization and the pets in your care?

The Petfinder Foundation's grant of $45 was used to cover the vaccines, flea treatment and microchip for Roxy, a 1-year-old miniature poodle mix who was transferred from Los Angeles. Roxy was quickly given these treatments, along with a behavior assessment and medical check-in, and was adopted five days later into a loving home.

This grant helped us save the money we would have spent on Roxy's vaccinations, flea treatment and microchips for another dog who will need the same treatments prior to adoption.

Please provide a story of one or more specific pets this grant helped.

Roxy, a 1-year-old miniature poodle mix, was transferred to Seattle Humane when she had run out of time at a Los Angeles shelter. Seattle Humane staff drove all night to California to bring her and 18 other dogs to our no-time-limit shelter and eager adopters in Seattle. The Petfinder Foundation’s grant was used to cover the vaccines, flea treatment and microchip for Roxy. She was quickly given these treatments, along with a behavior assessment and medical check-in, and was adopted five days later into a loving home.
