How did this grant help your organization and the pets in your care?

This money was used to sponsor a portion of the adoption fees for two cats.

The contribution via the Petfinder Foundation increased the visibility of two of our less-adoptable cats, Lilac and Harley Quinn. Harley Quinn was adopted as a result, and Lilac has received more attention than she did prior to sponsorship.

Sweet Lilac is our humane society’s longest resident. Lilac came to us after she lost her home to a house fire. Her face and ears were burned, resulting in long-term scarring. Her hair loss makes her look as though she is always scowling, but this couldn’t be further from the truth! Lilac loves being petted and will often trot right up to visitors for attention. We say Lilac is old-fashioned because she enjoys kissing the hands of visitors like gentlemen kissed the hands of ladies in olden times.
