Humane Society of Caroline County: Cat Castles Grant Report

How did this grant help your organization and the pets in your care?

We put several castles up in our foster homes for our foster cats/kittens to use and when they were(are) adoption the boxes went(will go) home with them. That way the cats/kittens will have something in their new home that was theirs in their foster home which will hopefully make the transition easier.

We also gave 25 of them to a local animal shelter that was in dire need. We will continue to use these as stated above. Thank you for such ans.or our cats/kitte great product and oppotunity f

Animals that we rescue are usually strays, or surrenders and when they come into the shelters they are confused and scared. Then we take them and put them in another place where they become even more scared and confused. Having these boxes for our cats/kittens to sleep in and play in is great. Then when they go to yet another place their smell is already on the box, so it helps them to relax right away and not be so scared. It helps the last transition in their life to be a feeling of happiness and safety instead of being scared and confused. It also helps the adoptor because the cat/kitten relates better because they(the cat/kitten) feels safe from the beginning.
