Louisa County Animal Shelter: Sponsor a Pet Grant Report
How did this grant help your organization and the pets in your care?
Ritzy's care to prepare her for adoption.
Ritzy came in very skinny and needed a slow re-feeding program. She received her vaccines and wormer and was spayed, rabies-vaccinated, and had some dental work done. The Sponsor a Pet money helped us offset the expenses of the medical care she needed.

Ritzy came to us on Valentine’s Day! She was emaciated, dirty, and full of fleas. Her breath was foul and she had bad teeth. She was pretty lethargic and didn’t want to do much when she came in. With loving attention and veterinary care, she became more energetic and outgoing. On March 15, 2019, Ritzy found a foster home in which to continue her recovery. On May 16, Ritzy’s adoption was finalized. Ritzy is super happy and cozy in her new home! A huge thanks to everyone involved in her recovery and adoption!
The first photo shows Ritzy the day of her arrival at the shelter. The second shows her in her foster home in recovery. The third is her new home, and the fourth is in her new back yard.
