How did this grant help your organization and the pets in your care?

We used the product we received to work with several dogs that came into our rescue. We were able to adopt all of the dogs that received training with the Thundershirt.

We were able to help dogs that were insecure and frightened; we were also able to work with dogs that had anxiety in loud or new situations.

Peaches came from the shelter scared and insecure. She was nervous around new people, new places, children, and pretty much everything. We trained her using her Thundershirt for several weeks before she was ready to attend adoption events. We brought her to the Farmer’s Market. A special event was going on. The Mountain Men fired off cap guns, which made her very nervous. We put her Thundershirt on her and she calmed right down. The noise didn’t even bother her one bit! The next day the event continued, and when the cap guns went off she didn’t care at all. She even got adopted! Her new family say that she uses her Thundershirt when introduced to new situations. The second time in the same situation, she has the confidence to proceed without fear!
