Salt Lake County Animal Services: P.L.A.Y. Pet Beds Grant Report

How did this grant help your organization and the pets in your care?

As part of the Voters' Choice poll for the month of June, Salt Lake County Animal Services was awarded 10 Chill Pads to be used for the pets at our shelter.

By creating time for our shelter pets to get outside of their kennels and into our offices, the P.L.A.Y. beds have helped to create a comfortable and safe environment for those who are stressed, scared or just need a quiet place to rest.

How many pets did this grant help?

50+

Please provide a story of one or more specific pets this grant helped.

Edna, a black and tan Chihuahua, came into our shelter after our Animal Control Officers were called out to pick up three dogs who had been abandoned and left tied to a pole. Edna is a very sweet dog but is nervous being in the shelter. Having the P.L.A.Y. beds has allowed her more time to relax and enjoy some extra snuggles. Edna is still available for adoption and can be viewed here.
