Texas Best Choices Animal Rescue: COVID-19 Operation Grant Report

How did this grant help your organization and the pets in your care?

We used your generous gift to provide food for our animals during Covid-19 when donated food was diverted away from rescues to the public or city shelters.

We have happy, healthy dogs who like to eat, and food is not optional! We were concerned we would have to divert funds from our medical budget to buy food, but your gift saved the day and enabled us to continue to have the much-needed medical funds for the medical needs of special dogs and pups!

How many pets did this grant help?

We feed, on average, 90 dogs and pups every day; they all say thank you!

Please provide a story of one or more specific pets this grant helped.

Faith (first photo), Hope (second photo) and Love (third photo) were dumped on the side of a road without any hope of survival. They were very skinny, to the point of emaciation, and scared for their lives. Thankfully, we were called. We could only catch them by using a trap, but we were able to save their lives.

Little Hope was the sickest and spent several days at the vet’s office. Funds for food are a big gift to our rescue. Food is expensive and your gift allows us to use funds that might have been needed to buy food to go instead to medical care for pups like Hope who need that care to survive.

Thank you for your generosity, especially for Faith, Hope and Love. But all the dogs at TBC say THANK YOU! Hope is in our Foster2Adopt program and we hope to find Faith and Love a permanent and loving home very soon thanks to the Petfinder Foundation.
