Purchase of 11 large Kuranda beds for the dogs.

The grant helped our shelter provide Kuranda beds to our large dogs. We previously had beds only for the small and medium dogs, but none for the larger dogs, who would have to lie on the shelter floor on a towel provided.

Please provide a story of one or more specific pets this grant helped.

A specific animal who benefitted from the grant would be Lady, a 3-year-old female shepherd mix. She had been running loose in the streets for more than a week and was scared and not wanting to be loved on. We had towels lying on the floor to try and provide comfort, but we could see the floor was hard on her and she wasn’t comfortable. After we gave her one of the new large Kuranda dog beds, she immediately laid/stood on the bed and we could tell he was happier and more comfortable. Since giving her the bed, we have been able to work with her and she has become friendlier. She is still available for adoption. You can meet Lady here.
