How did this grant help your organization and the pets in your care?

KONG toys to help enrich the dogs' stay while at the facility and go home with them when the dogs are adopted.

Our facility is able to give our adoptable animals a KONG toy to play with while they are here. When a dog leaves our facility by adoption, we have the KONG toy go with them so they have something they are comfortable with when they arrive at their new home.

Chub Chub (first and second photos) enjoyed her Kong immensely and loved playing with it, not only in her kennel, but also by playing fetch with it in our outdoor dog run. When Chub Chub was adopted, she walked proudly out of the shelter to her new owner’s vehicle with the toy in her mouth.

All the dogs who have received KONG toys have enjoyed their new enrichment activity and it has been nice for the staff to be able to send the toys home with the adopted dogs.
