City of Saginaw Animal Services: KONG Toys Grant Report

How did this grant help your organization and the pets in your care?

The items were used for animals being housed at our facility. Since most of the dogs stay here a long period of time, the KONG toys are given to the ones who have a tendency to destroy average toys in their kennels due to their chewing habits.

We were able to use these and cut down on the costs of replacing items such as copper water lines in their kennels due to the animals chewing on the toys instead of the lines.

How many pets did this grant help?

Please provide a story of one or more specific pets this grant helped.

Hannah (first photo) was one of our animals who was very energetic, she would just bounce in her kennel when someone would walk by. She received one of the KONG toys and played with it a lot while she was in her kennel. She was at our facility for 233 days. She was finally adopted out on Dec. 11, 2019, and is doing wonderfully in her new home.
