Abandoned Animal Rescue: Play Yard Renovation Grant Report

How did this grant help your organization and the pets in your care?

Crushed granite for dog play-yard renovation in areas that flooded.

All dogs are taken to outdoor exercise yards twice daily. Due to the high volume of rain in Houston, many of the yards and walking paths have been flooding, which limited the volunteers' ability to get to the yards or use the walking paths.

How many pets did this grant help?

Please provide a story of one or more specific pets this grant helped.

Midge (first photo) is a delightful, happy girl who craves lots of love and attention; she loved her play time in the exercise yards and the mud puddles (second photo) — but the mud baths meant more work for the volunteers to clean her up. Midge also enjoyed playing with other friendly big dogs at the shelter. Midge has been adopted!
