High winds and flooding in the Seguin, Texas, area in May 2015 destroyed kennels, destroyed a window air conditioning unit because of a downed tree, and resulted in six inches of water in our outdoor kennels. We used the funds to clear downed trees, replace the a/c unit, repair damaged kennel fences, and bring in truckloads of sand and gravel to raise the ground level of our outdoor kennels and exercise spaces. This grant helped more than 80 dogs who are residents in our outdoor kennels by enabling us to buy truckloads of sand and gravel to raise the ground level of these kennels. This prevented them from having to live in standing water.
