Never Look Back Rescue (formerly The ARRC): Senior Pet Adoption Assistance Grant Report

How did this grant help your organization and the pets in your care?

The funds provided by the Senior Pet Adoption Assistance Grant were used to cover three months of Preston's heart medication. Preston is a senior Great Dane with cardiomyopathy. He takes three different medications twice daily, and with him getting zero adoption interest, his needs have fallen solely on the rescue, and most likely will continue to for the rest of his days. This grant was a huge help for us!

This grant not only helped cover Preston's medication for three months, it allowed us to help other dogs in need with the funds we would've been spending on his monthly medications. Preston also licks his feet a lot, and the extra funds helped us get him on some natural allergy supplements to give him some relief.

Please provide a story of one or more specific pets this grant helped.

Preston has been with the rescue a little over a year, and we expect him to become a hospice rescue and live out his days with us. The cost of his monthly medication to manage his cardiomyopathy is what often deters people from adoption. We were able to set some of the funds aside to cover the first month of medication for his potential future adopter, and we hope this helps increase his chances of finding a forever home! Preston is a senior Great Dane who was dealt a pretty sad life, and we are thankful for supporters like the Petfinder Foundation helping us make his golden years all that they should be! You can meet Preston here.
