Lucy was surrendered to a shelter by an elderly gentleman who had exhausted all his funds trying to get her the medical care she needed. The previous vet he had taken her to told him the only thing left to do for her was to amputate.
After rescuing Lucy from the shelter, we were relieved to know that our vet thought that her leg could be saved. The procedure would not be without risk, but he was very confident.
Lucy’s surgery was a success. Her recovery has been a little slow, but she is back to normal. Lucy is still available on Petfinder and has not been adopted yet.
