Three Little Pitties Rescue: Dogs Playing for Life Mentorship Grant Report
How did this grant help your organization and the pets in your care?
As I write this, I am sitting at our new rescue facility watching our trained team host playgroups for the first time at our rescue. We are honored to have attended the training at DPFL; we were able to send three of our teammates, who now take turns hosting playgroups in our beautiful new play yards.
It is changing our dogs for the better. They are having so much fun running and playing together. We see that the stress level has decreased in our boarding and they seem much happier overall.
Thank you to the Petfinder Foundation for sponsoring one of our teammates to go to the training. It was a huge blessing to us!
How many pets did this grant help?
Please provide a story of one or more specific pets this grant helped.
Miller is a large pit mix who has been in our boarding for five months. He was developing kennel frustration in our boarding environment and was not getting enough exercise to release his stress.
We moved to a new rescue property a week ago and our staff had training to host playgroups. Miller is now running and playing with other dogs in the yard and he seems like a completely different dog. He seems much calmer in boarding, and has a big smile on his face in the yards.
