Barking Mad Animal Rescue: COVID-19 Operation Grant Report

How did this grant help your organization and the pets in your care?

100% of the grant money was used to purchase dry/canned food for dogs abandoned during the Covid-19 crisis.

Many dogs were abandoned when the Covid-19 lockdown began. Our rescue quickly became overwhelmed with the need to feed and care for so many unexpected canines. The grant supplemented our ability to buy extra food for these animals.

Please provide a story of one or more specific pets this grant helped.

Possum was abandoned on a deserted road along with her siblings, all of them neglected, mange-ridden, and starved. Picked up by a good Samaritan, Possum and her sisters were taken into Barking Mad Animal Rescue. Possum and Peyton both delivered puppies within days of arriving. Possum has proven to be a very attentive mom and, despite her ordeal, is a very trusting girl. Possum never meets a stranger. She is dog-friendly, people-friendly and very lively! After her pups are weaned, she will have her vetting finished and will be someone’s dream companion.
