Please provide a story of one or more specific pets this grant helped.

Sophie is a senior dog who came into our rescue in May 2016 with minimal chance of being adopted at the shelter and would ultimately face being euthanized. After rescuing her, we took her to our vet and found that she had extreme teeth decay and a heart murmur. A crushing blow to many rescues, but thanks to the Petfinder Foundation’s All-Star Dog Rescue Celebration grant, we were able to provide her the needed treatment to remove the decaying teeth and treat her for her murmur. Despite having these issues, Sophie blossomed within CPAH and made her mark on the Titcheners during one of our adoption events. They filled out an adoption application for her that day and met her again at an event we had later the same evening to spend more time with her.

After spending six months with CPAH getting the treatment and care she needed, Sophie headed to her forever home in November 2016 and has been living the high life ever since.
