Missy’s Haven: Senior Pet Adoption Assistance Grant Report

How did this grant help your organization and the pets in your care?

Receiving this grant enabled us to waive Suki’s adoption fee of $175 and fund three years of eye medication at $21.93 a month, for total of $789. Suki is a loving 10-year-old shih tzu who came to us after her owner died and she was surrendered to Animal Control. There, she was on the euthanasia list because she'd been overlooked due to her age and an eye condition that can be controlled with daily eye drops.

Suki would not have been adopted without it due to her ongoing medical needs

Please provide a story of one or more specific pets this grant helped.

After Suki’s human mom passed away, her family decided they didn’t want to care for her. We knew it wasn’t her time yet, she just needed a place to call home and lots of lovin’, for she was probably grieving as well. She came to us needing a groom, and in urgent need of a dental. She requires daily medication and has a special diet. Suki is now living in her very own home, being cuddled and loved like the spoiled little girl she deserves to be. She was part of our seniors-to-seniors program. Suki is now her adopter’s companion after she lost her husband due to illness. Suki has helped her do daily care by providing company. THANK YOU, PETFINDER FOUNDATION.
