It was used to cover all of Darrel's expenses and, with approval, his adoption fee.

Because Darrel had special needs because of his broken leg, it helped us cover all his medical expenses and helped him find a forever home. The family that adopted him was worried about future medical issues, but with his adoption fee covered, it took the burden off them to seek a specialist if needed.

Darrel was one of more than 100 dogs who were dumped in the Houston area. They were in very bad condition. We took in 10 of the worst. Darrel had a broken leg that was going to require surgery. After many vet visits and x-rays, it was determined that the break was old and could not be repaired. With grant funds, Darrel was neutered and all his medical bills covered, as well as his adoption fee. This helped place him in a home that might have been concerned with future medical issues. He is now loved very much by his new family.
