Paws Ranch Rescue: Disaster Response and Recovery Grant Report

How did this grant help your organization and the pets in your care?

The money was a disaster-relief grant we used to vet dogs to be sent to less-crowded shelters out of state. We also used half the funds to repair our outdoor kennels after they were damaged by Hurricane Harvey.

This grant helped our organization by enabling us to move pets from our crowded location to two less-crowded shelters up north. This grant also helped us by allowing us to renovate our outdoor kennels that were damaged by the storm. The pets benefited from a less-crowded, renewed environment.

How many pets did this grant help?

This grant directly helped 10 pets and indirectly helped more than 30 animals.

Please provide a story of one or more specific pets this grant helped.

Tika (first and second photos) is a 4-year-old border collie mix. She has been at Paws Ranch for three years. No one has ever shown interest in this loving, loyal companion. She deserves a great home and a comfortable space to live at the shelter. Thanks to the Petfinder Foundation, Tika is enjoying her renewed space! She is available for adoption.
