Loving Arms Pet Placement: COVID-19 Operation Grant Report

How did this grant help your organization and the pets in your care?

The organization committed to help several injured animals -- one with a neck injury and the other with a deformed paw. The bulk of the funds were spent for emergency care. The remainder was applied to other animals needing routine care.

The grant allowed us to say "yes" to two special cases who needed immediate help and had been passed over by other rescues due to the unknown expense. We were grateful to have the safety net in place. Of course, our regular fundraisers have been cancelled this year.

How many pets did this grant help?

Approximately eight

Please provide a story of one or more specific pets this grant helped.

Valentino (first three photos) came to us on Feb. 14 with a severe neck injury due to an embedded rope. He was treated at an ER and had additional surgery to close the open wound left when the rope was removed. Valentino is in foster care and available for adoption.

Kiki, the kitten (bottom three photos), came to us with a deformed/injured paw. The vet determined that the paw could not be saved, and amputated it. Kiki was adopted on Aug. 29.
