How did this grant help your organization and the pets in your care?

We used the donated Kong toys as enrichment for our shelter dogs.

Even though we are mostly a foster-home-based rescue group, we do house a small number of kenneled dogs while they are waiting to be fostered or adopted. These dogs enjoy the environmental enrichment provided by Kong toys. It helps break up boredom and keeps them engaged.

This grant helped us keep Cole, a large dog (first two photos), happy and entertained. Cole has brain damage and is blind in one eye and deaf in one ear. In spite of this, he is active and playful. He enjoys his treat-filled Kong toys greatly! Cole wasn’t the only one who enjoyed these toys. We’ve included pictures of other dogs who were equally fascinated.
