How did this grant help your organization and the pets in your care?

The donation was used for Sophie's transportation and care during her time spent at Friends For Life. Sophie, an FIV+ cat, was rescued from El Campo Animal Shelter, 75 miles from our shelter.

This grant allows us to save animals who would not have a chance elsewhere. Sophie was marked for pre-euthanasia, but because of the Sponsor a Pet program, we were able to offer her a second chance at life.

Sophie was a rail-thin, senior, FIV+ owner-surrender pulled from a small, hard-working but not no-kill shelter an hour outside Houston in February. Yep, we drove there to get her. Sophie has found her forever home. She was adopted in March and lives happily with her parents.
