Safe Haven Puppy Sanctuary: Bar Dog Operation Grant Report

How did this grant help your organization and the pets in your care?

We were able to buy two pallets of food for the dogs and puppies in our program.

How many pets did this grant help?

50

Please provide a story of one or more specific pets this grant helped.

We applied for this grant to help us purchase food, which is one of our largest expenses when you are feeding 50+ mouths. This food will feed our available-for-adoption pets, our sanctuary dogs and our transport dogs who go north to sister rescues to find their forever homes.

Pictured is River. From his Petfinder profile: “River is a cute little fella of unknown origins. Our best guess is that he is some kind of terrier mix. He is full grown at 2 years old and just about 40 lbs. While River is great with those he knows, he does not like being put in situations where he is forced to interact with strangers. This boy is a country boy and not a city slicker and prefers a more calm and less social lifestyle.

“River loves playing with his foster friends and would likely enjoy a similar-sized playmate. He is also a cuddle bug and is up on the couch either on me or beside me at night.

“River is neutered, up-to-date on vaccines, heartworm-negative, on preventions, and microchipped. River would loved a physically fenced-in yard to run and play in and he is potty trained with a doggy door.”

You can meet River here.
