Williamson County Animal Center: Purina and Amazon Treats for the Holidays Grant Report
How did this grant help your organization and the pets in your care?
The Friskies Party Mix Favorites Cat Treats were used in SO many ways. They were used to provide enrichment for our cats in the shelter and in foster. They were also shown to adopters as the treats we prefer to use for cats. We provide them to adopters of adult cats and hopefully create future Friskies customers!
It really helped us provide better enrichment. Cats get very anxious and scared in this type of environment. When they get scared, they get sick. These treats help us keep them healthy and happy until they can find their forever homes. By sending the treats home with the adopters, it helps keep them on a consistent treat and they have something familiar at their new home.
How many pets did this grant help?
So far we have adopted 1,250 cats in 2016. These treats have made a positive impact on that many cat lives!
Please provide a story of one or more specific pets this grant helped.
Cotton, pictured, was very fearful while in our care. These treats helped to get her out of her shell. They also helped us capture a great photo (first photo) so that we can find her the best home possible. Pictures are worth 1,000 words — we say that this picture is worth 1,000 purrs! Cotton has been adopted by a family that says, “She is the perfect addition to our family!” (third photo).
