Humane Society of Memphis & Shelby County: A Shot at Life Vaccination Grant Report
How did this grant help your organization and the pets in your care?
We used the cat vaccines we received to vaccinate new injured and abused cats being accepted into our system with unknown vaccination/ medical histories.
We are 100% non-profit and reliant on donations, so every cost-saving opportunity available allows us to help more animals.
How many pets did this grant help?
Please provide a story of one or more specific pets this grant helped.
Melissa came in as part of an abandoned litter of 3 kittens. They were just a couple of weeks old, and had to spend their first two months in foster care, being bottle fed by a dedicated foster mom. The donation of these vaccines helped give Melissa and her siblings the protection from disease that they needed, especially since they weren’t getting their mom’s anitbodies though nursing. Now Melissa and her brother and sister are in our adoption gallery, and have pending adoption applications!
