Animal Shelter Alliance of Rhea: P.L.A.Y. Pet Beds Grant Report

How did this grant help your organization and the pets in your care?

The beds and toys are used for comfort and enrichment for our dogs.

The dogs are happier when they are comfortable and have something to play with besides the other dogs. Happier dogs are more adoptable.

Please provide a story of one or more specific pets this grant helped.

Sadie (first photo) and Timmy (second photo) are two Pomeranian mix siblings. Their mom went into a nursing home and could not keep them. None of her relatives could take them both, so they came to us on the condition that they be adopted together. They were not with us long and are now in a happy home!

Jake (third photo) is a cattle dog whom we rescued from a farm. He is the picture of health and may just become our new Facebook photo because he’s such a little model! Jake has been adopted.

Sampson (fourth photo) is a sweet, big, goofy puppy! He was adopted within days of being posted on Petfinder. Such a silly pup!

Sandy (fifth photo) is pit mix who is a sweet girl and loves to cuddle. She’s been with us since May, and she will be until we find her the perfect home. It’s a little harder with the pit mixes, but we will keep working at it! Meet Sandy here.
