Humane Society of Dickson County: WAHL Grooming Grant Report

How did this grant help your organization and the pets in your care?

The shampoo samples were distributed in adoption packets and the bottles of shampoo are being used to bathe dogs.

This grant provided a product that helped staff bathe the dogs. This is especially important in preparing the dogs for our adopt-a-thon events and when we receive dogs from animal control that are in need of extra grooming.

How many pets did this grant help?

Please provide a story of one or more specific pets this grant helped.

An old black Lab was found abandoned by the side of the road on a blanket where she gave birth to a litter of puppies. She was picked up by animal control and then brought to the shelter. She enjoyed the attention the staff gave her when she got a bath. Her fur was dirty and matted but the bath not only brightened her spirits, but made her coat shine.
