Fayette County Animal Rescue: COVID-19 Operation Grant Report

How did this grant help your organization and the pets in your care?

We used the $1,000 to go towards our veterinarian bills for April 2020. With a total one-month balance of $2,730.70, the $1,000 was so helpful to put towards the vet bill because our donations had gone down tremendously because of COVID-19.

One of our mamas, KayKay, gave birth in February, just a few weeks before COVID-19 arrived in the U.S. Her puppies were all put into foster homes once they were weaned and all ended up getting adopted very quickly! The grant from the Petfinder Foundation was such a blessing to have go towards the seven puppies' vaccinations and spaying/neutering before they went to their forever homes! We do still have mama KayKay waiting for her forever home. She was also spayed in April 2020 so she's ready to be adopted out.

Please provide a story of one or more specific pets this grant helped.

All seven of KayKay’s puppies were adopted during this time! The grant was absolutely wonderful to have to go towards their initial vet care as well as mama’s spay. They are all in wonderful homes, and two sets of siblings were actually adopted together! However, KayKay is still looking for her perfect family. You can meet her here.
