How did this grant help your organization and the pets in your care?

We received 45 KONG toys for our shelter dogs. This was such a tremendous blessing, as it helped with the anxiety of the shelter environment as well as the stress and depression the pups go through.

The KONG toys were a tremendous help to our shelter dogs and continue to be one. We place peanut butter inside the Kong toys and the pups will lick and play for extended periods. They absolutely love it.

Barley came to our shelter on July 18, 2020. As with many pups, he was anxious and stressed with the environment. Thanks to the Petfinder Foundation, we gave him a Kong toy as soon as the toys arrived on Sept. 13. Barley’s stress was reduced and he became more calm and loving. Barley was adopted on Oct. 3 to his forever home (first photo). I truly believe the Kong was a key factor in getting Barley to become a better companion.
