Please provide a story of one or more specific pets this grant helped.

Katy is a 9-year-old female cat who came into the shelter. She was very overweight and had several health problems associated with her weight. To fully see the extent and to plan a treatment course, several tests needed to be completed. This grant paid for several rounds of blood tests. It was determined that Katy had joint issues as well as the weight problem. With money from this grant we were able to purchase pain medication and a prescription diet for Katy. She is being fostered in one of the offices at the shelter and has shown great improvement. The new diet and medication has allowed her to move around more freely. She is still up for adoption and will hopefully fine that forever home very soon.
