Taz & Penny's Happy Tails Rescue: Sponsor a Pet Grant Report

How did this grant help your organization and the pets in your care?

Vaccinations (rabies, distemper, parvo, etc.) and 4Dx tests for a senior dog, Taylor. She was Lyme-positive and needed a 30-day treatment of antibiotics. She also had some very stiff knees and this helped provide her with some much-needed medication to help her with her discomfort.

It helped us get veterinary care for a senior dog who tested positive for Lyme disease. Also, by helping with the cost of her vaccinations and tests and medication, we were free to use our other resources to bring three other new dogs in while still treating our senior dog, Taylor.

How many pets did this grant help?

Four dogs: Taylor, Sid, Sarge and Castle

Please provide a story of one or more specific pets this grant helped.

Taylor came to us as an owner surrender. She had lived for 10 years with her family and suddenly found herself homeless when her owner had to move and couldn’t take Taylor with her. She is sweet, loyal and oh, so loving! At 10 years old, Taylor wasn’t the “cute little puppy” that everyone wanted. She was larger and older and starting to slow down and have those sore joints that bother older ones. We got her updated on all her vaccinations, found that she was Lyme-positive and treated her with antibiotics for 30 days and gave her some much-needed medication to ease her knee pain. She is enjoying herself at her foster home and doing very well while waiting for her forever home and family!
