Forever Love Rescue, Inc.: COVID-19 Operation Grant Report
How did this grant help your organization and the pets in your care?
We were able to purchase low-cost medical supplies, vaccines and microchips to take care of so many of the 600 cats and kittens we have taken in this year!
We were able to afford to provide the cats here with the high standard of care that we promise them.
How many pets did this grant help?
Please provide a story of one or more specific pets this grant helped.
This is S’mores. Her story starts at a mobile-home park where you can find many homeless, underweight, and unfixed cats. Many of them are also sick and many have no form of protection or shelter. One of our wonderful volunteers was able to successfully trap the mother to S’mores and her four littermates. The five kittens were very small for their age due to their mother cat being less than a year old and not producing enough milk.
Over a period of many weeks and with the love and care of one of our amazing foster moms, S’mores, her mother, and her four siblings all became happy, healthy, well-fed, and very trusting of their caretaker.
One by one, S’mores’ siblings were adopted: first her brother, then two sisters to the same home, and then the fourth. Although she was the last, S’mores hit the forever-home jackpot when Angie came along. Angie works in the animal field and already had four Siamese cats of her own. S’mores now sleeps in bed with her human mom every night. She is truly living her happily ever after.
