PAWSibilities Animal Rescue: P.L.A.Y. Pet Beds Grant Report

How did this grant help your organization and the pets in your care?

P.L.A.Y. pet beds were used to enhance the lives of our shelter cats awaiting forever homes. The pet beds were given to both our community cats who live in the open and our medically fragile cats who live in cages.

This grant gave our animals awaiting homes a warm, soft place to sleep and play. The pet beds also made bedding in our community-cat rooms uniform and appealing for potential adopters.

How many pets did this grant help?

Please provide a story of one or more specific pets this grant helped.

Fonzi (first photo) came to live at Pawsibilites with his mom and five siblings. While his mother and siblings have found forever homes, Fonzi remains with us, awaiting his. Fonzi watched me start to put the P.L.A.Y. beds out and ran across the room to claim one. He now spends most of his sleep time on the bed. Meet him:

Patches (second photo) is our very shy kitty who is enjoying the P.L.A.Y. beds on her high shelf. Patches is still learning to like people and not ready for adoption.

While you cannot see the P.L.A.Y. bed in the third photo, it is in the box being enjoyed by this group of kitties who just arrived at our shelter. These very scared kitties came from the home of a hoarder who had 63 cats living with her. Once these kitties are treated and socialized, they will be ready for their forever homes.
