We have many dogs that arrive here that are under weight. We provide them with good healthy food and this helps them to be happy and health. The dog sponsored was Tedrick, who has been adopted! From his Petfinder profile: “Hello. My name is Tedrick. My friends are permitted to call me Teddy. I am an Akita, handsome and proud! AND I’m a marshmallow who just loves to be petted and snuggled. I LOVE to play and roll around like a goofball because I am ONE. Yeah, Teddy as in a teddy bear! I am 3-5 years of age and weight in at 86 lbs. I will tell you cats are not my cup of tea, but I think I like other dogs. My foster friends, Molly and her pups, are GREAT fun. I like taking walks and I do well on a leash, BUT if I catch sight of something like a squirrel, deer, cat, or bunny, it’s GAME ON!!! I will pull and I am strong and stubborn. I must be on leash at all times and a fenced yard will be the best for me. I will sit forever for you to pet and hug me! I have never been in a house that I remember. I will need to learn the rules of house living. I keep my kennel pretty tidy and try to wait till walk time to take care of business. I would prefer to live in a home were my people are familiar with my breed. We can be strong willed but very loyal. My breed is known for being a protector and good with children. I think, though, because of my size and playfulness, toddlers may not be a good idea. I would feel very badly if I knocked one over and hurt them. I am hoping we can become friends and that you are looking for a handsome fluff ball like myself!”
